The Latest News on the COVID-19 Virus and its Impact on the Salt Lake City Marathon.

Many athletes have been reaching out in regards to the COVID-19 coronavirus situation. The organizers of the Salt Lake City Marathon share your concerns and have been working very closely with the local and state officials. As of this time, THE EVENT IS ON and all preparations continue for a great race on April 18.  This pertains to all of our events including the Quality of Life Expo on April 17 at the Salt Palace Convention Center and all distances on race day (half marathon, bike tour, 5k run, 10k run, 10k skate, and kids k). 

Our decision to continue forward is congruent with today’s statements from Governor Herbert and Mayor Mendenhall related to mass gatherings in Utah. Our top priority is the health and safety of our athletes, spectators, and the entire Salt Lake community.
